    1. The destination of an online tech support e-mail is wholly determined by the user account details that you entered - if your account is set to Singapore (which it should be, correctly), then your online tech support submission form should route to whomever looks after Singapore as a territory. Which is not the US - especially if you e-mailed the US directly, via the "Contact" page.

    2. Warranty is three years on the date of purchase of hardware, unless stated otherwise. Warrantly also applies to the territory it was purchased in originally. So simply put, if you buy in Singapore, it's supported by the office that looks after Singapore, which leads to 3..

    3. Last I knew, this was Convergent Systems. Going up from there, it's probably our China office.

can you try another test before placing the NX in the microwave

        1. insert the card without extension board and install drivers/firmware

        2. reboot

        test now

Re-installed the HX-E1/E2 Driver for EDIUS NX/EDIUS SP Series Hardware (v3.50)(Windows 2000/XP) driver & firmware with the Bare NC Card on one of my 133mhz PCI-X slot & restarted Edius.

Tried loaded those existing projects & the same 'Hardware Error, Do you want to change the project settings' occured but the Good News is, the Preview Monitor displayed those clips on the saved timeline projects as 4:3 BUT the the Project Settings still remain as 'NTSC DV 4:3' instead of 'PAL DV 4:3' which was originally presetted.

I tried open a NEW project with NHX-E1 : 720x576 50i 4:3 (DV) settings ---> Import some known 4:3 clips onto timeline ----> SAVE & Quit project ----> Restarted Edius & load this project ---> 'Hardware Error. ......' msg displayed ----> click OK -----> Project displayed 4:3 BUT under Project Settings, ALL 'PAL Output Devices', all 'List of Presets' but shown NTSC Output Device & its List of Presets instead.

Funny part is, i set the project as PAL settings but my NX card change it to NTSC instead. Is there such Hardware jumer which i can change from NTSC to PAL for my NX card instead of using the DVcapture 1.11 utiliy to change about ?

          Current Finding;

          - Maybe the Expansion card contributes to the wrong aspect raio display in my projects ?

          - Perhaps, there are really some hardware defects with the NX card? or just software conflicts ?

My NX card had created lotsa SYSTEM (PAL/NTSC) & Codec conflicts thus far! I Re-create a Project(with NX card connected) using OHCI PAL DV 4:3, import a color bar, save & quit edius. Upon restarting this project, No 'Hardward Error.......' & the project started normally showing 4:3 display. Even Project Settings also showed PAL DV 4:3 48k settings.....

So, NX card is the culprit of all problems i encountered so far. CONFIRMED !

Where did you buy your NX from? Obviously, I think there is something wrong with your NX card. Take it to Convergent Systems (opposite Sim Lim Square) and ask to speak to Brian. Produce your sales slip to show it is under warranty - and Zzzz :-).

So long as it is not a outright hardware failure, most of Canopus problems can be solved - if you know where to poke. Some are due to buggy installers. Yes - I have encountered several times in the past too - and Convergent has indeed confirmed that one version they had just could not install properly.

Thanks for your advice. :) This NX + Expansion Kit was purchased from Treasure Productions. The NX card itself stated a 'A52G' or '100CDD'. Dunno whether these are the card's Batch number ??

Anyway, I would like give the NX card a LAST CHANCE by: Re-Format PC ---> Re-install XP PRO & all the releveant drivers & this NX card + Expt Kit seperately ----> make sure i set my system to PAL during such fresh installation ---> Re-import all the previous 'problems-proned' projects to see if my 'Hardware Errors.....' issues still exits. If so, then I would have to send to Convergent Sys for CHECK else I may resort to RMA the card/s to China myself. The cards are definitlely under warranty.

Hopefully such selective TEST could proved & convinced me whether the NX or Expansion Kit created 'Physical Errors' which Edius 3.62 had reported.

Aprreciate ALL whom had spent some time advicing & troubleshooting on my NX issues. Will update you guys soon after the 'FRESH' installations of my 3 Precious GEMs.

              Cheers.

Is Treasure Productions an authorised dealer for Canopus h/w? Check with Convergent Systems. I only deal directly with them - much better service this way. If Convergent confirmed that Treasure Productions is authorised, then you can take your cards down to them and get them to check. If the card is indeed faulty, Convergent will do the RMA for you. Save your postage for a rainy day.

Yup, Treasure Productions is an authorised dealer together with AV8 Media if my memory still sreves me well. I would like to perform a FINAL test before running the cards down to them for verifications.

Yes, If Convergent could do the RMA, that would be great ! Anyway, Thanks alot Bro !

                  Cheers.
