  • Why can't I relink proxies?

I don't use proxies for checkouts\checkins. I use them to make my editing smoother.

I moved all of my footage to a different drive and when I try to relink all of the footage, if I have chosen even ONE proxy, I only get the option to "do nothing". I am not able to "choose folder" location for proxies. Why do I have to create new proxies and can't relink them?

EDIUS will not let you link to proxy files - that's just the way it works.

So you cannot just copy the proxies to another machine, with the project file and then use the proxies. The only way to get a project using proxies on another machine is to use the "check out" procedure.

If you select just one proxy when choosing several files to link up (as you have done) then you cannot relink anything. I always click on the hi res/proxy heading so the files are then re-ordered with all the proxies separated from the HiRes files; then I can select multiple hiRes files and relink them.

I would love to relink proxies, and also to have a tick box in the restore file dialogue box to remove proxies from the list. We can hope for these in a future update but I do not know if/when it will be changed.
