Is it possible to grab a video still (Control + T) and preserve the alpha channel?
I've tried changing the Still Image file type (System Settings-Import/export-Still Image-File type) and have not been able to retain the alpha.
Also, is there a suggested codec or Canopus setting that is best for PSD files?
Having a problem where the alpha appears to be bleeding through the image -
grayish colors. Working around that by getting graphics as After Effects movies, but that isn't a practical solution, nor is getting graphics as a separate matte & fill, nor is using a Time Effect to freeze, or a 0% speed playback. (I work in a TV station & we need faster turn around for graphics, previous edit system was Final Cut Pro and could import multi-layer PSD no problem and open in timeline all layers intact, extend layers to whatever length needed and then add effects/transistions). We're using Canopus HQ Standard setting for rendering. All work is exported to Aurora for use by other editors. Edius is running on a HP Z800 workstation, connected to a K2 server. Aurora is also installed on my PC.
Is it also correct that Edius can only work with a single layer PSD? When I try to import multi-layers it flattens the file to a single layer.
Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks in advance
