  • Only video loading to timeline

    Hello:

I have an issue with one of my projects, I must have accidentally pressed a keyboard shortcut that only lets the video of clips go into the timeline, for some reason the audio doesn't import with the clips from the bin. The clips do have audio and I've imported them earlier today with no problem but now anythinng I import only brings in the video.

    Any ideas? Thanks very much!

It could be that you turned off Audio.
Look top left of the time line you will see V and A both should be enabled.

Thanks for such a quick response!

When you mean the top left, do you mean the "A" in the VA channel? Because that's enabled.

Basically, I have the same clips on the timeline from yesterday and they have audio, everything plays fine, but all of a sudden now when I try to drop them on the timeline from the bin, they will only show video.

If I open a new project and pull the clips in, they will play with audio, it only seems to be in this particular project, and I can't start over new, I have 3 days on this timeline.

            Use print screen in Windows.

Got it. I took 2 screenshots, in the second one, the two blue clips are the same, the one on the left I imported yesterday, the one on the right, just a few minutes ago.

This is looks to be a dragging issue.
I f you drag and have not move the track patches you need to wast which tracks you are targeting.

You have to look at where the shade (place indicator) goes when dragging. You can drag to connected (where the audio patches are "blocks) or unconnected tracks (no audio track patches)'

The indicator shows where the audio and video wil be dropped when dragging.

I have a document in this the following thread which you can download.
It was made for the VA workflow but it wil give you an Idea what is meant by shade.

                Go to this thread:

Look at my post #9 .
I have a zip which you can download.
                Maybe you find it useful.

Actually, I just got the solution from the post you linked me to. I somehow had pressed 8 and lost my audio. I knew it had to be some kind of shortcut I didn't know I activated.

Many many thanks for your help! Greatly appreciated, you've saved me hours of stress!
