Getting Audio distortion when using video filter

Currently working on a project using filters in Edius 6. My audio is distorted only in the areas where a video filter is applied. Any idea as to what's causing this and (more importantly) how to fix?

Update on my original post.....upon taking a closer look, the video actually slows down slightly in areas where I have placed a filter, thus the most obvious effect is distorted audio.

I suspect the timeline has red above the video at the place your filter starts... you will need to render to get smooth playback in that case. Third party filters are not real-time in Edius FWIW.
