  • Best way codec to import alpha background clip

Hi, just a couple of questions:

Have made some glass looking banners which look amazing in after effects but when composited in Edius dont really work. The highlights on the glass become grey rather than white. I have exported in PSD still and Uncompressed video with alpha channel then converted to Canopus Lossless. I have got round this before by exporting from AE with black background the selecting 'screen' keyer which is better but still looses most of the effect. Any ideas at all?

Also when I import a uncompressed file in the bin then right click it to render file the only option is Canopus Lossless on the dropdown. There used to be in the previous versions of edius the option to convert to Canopus HQ. Why has this gone or am I missing an option in the setup?

    Many thanks

    Denham

    Hi Denham

You can export direct from AE to Canopus HQ, HQX or Lossless with alpha...just choose the RGBA option.

    Best
    Dave.
