If the updates are already installed just deinstall the last security updates!
That helped me to bring VisTitle back without image restauration!

I translated this from my german GUI so please associate it with what does exist in your localized GUI
go to 'Control Panel -> Programs -> Programs & Features -> installed Updates' & deinstall every
update you will find last time stamp!

        Good luck! ;)

I really cannot understand why anyone would ever have automatic updates turned on. If your system is stable - leave it alone, some people just can't help thinking these updates will improve performance - keep off the internet, if its not broke, don't fix it - simple.

I fully agree with your quote. When I install the OS, and do what I do to it, updates are included. Once the system is running stable, and you don't use the internet, updates really aren't needed. Now, if an annoucement is made that performance will be increased with a new update, you bet I will take the chance. But otherwise, as Paul said, if it ain't broke....don't fix it.
