  • HD Storm monitor switching time

I'm sure I saw a thread about this, but now can't find it, Edius 6.03 on Win 64 my system 1 as signature

Using the tab key or the mouse to switch from "source" to "record" monitor, my output switches almost immediatly, except sometimes. Then it gives me 3 seconds of black before it refreshes.

If I hit the tab key, I can switch 5 or 6 times in succession, then I get a 3 second black "wait"

This via HDMI, I'll check the composite too.

    strange indeedy...

    Paul :-)

Maybe you should reinstall the hardware driver. Be sure to use the one that came with the 6.03 update.

You are correct Paul it has been talked about i had it on 6-6.02 still there in 6.03 3 seconds delay in switching. I have used all of Anrtons suggestions re tweaking Win 7
A serch on the word "delay will only show 1 reference but im shure it was mentioned in several threads

I first raised this issue and while it got fixed for most people, others with some chip-set boards weren't so lucky. For example, Intel 5400 chip-stet had problems that I think still exist. No idea why it would be random though, for me it was every time.

NX would be fine, it doesn't have HDMI which I presume is where the problem starts.

Yes, I think its the HDMI, random behaviour, when you guys say instant or very fast switching, do you still get a sync drop, or disturbance in the signal?

Shame GV hasn't been able to sort this out in the last couple of years or so... Canopus were the hardware kings I recall - Storm was soo good, perfect switching, no sync drop - clean as a whistle -

OK, I'll go to the feeder, and buy a new card, that is, I guess, the general idea!

                            Hey Anton,

Don't really get this at all, it's sure the slowest response I've ever seen, and its oddly random, it switches quickly for a few cycles, then drops to no signal for 3 or 4 seconds - maybe its just a local bug - the machine is very clean, nothing else on board at all - could be the Ibis/HD Storm pcie card interupt etc, I'll look when there's a gap in the editing.

Yes, my Spark is fast too... All latest drivers....

                            Paul :-)
