  • Quick titler and Visititle resolution?

I wonder if anyone can tell me the "resolution" of the fonts generated by Quicktitler and by Visititler? are they the same, or is Visititler a higher resolution?

I think all Hd titles in Vistitle will be 1920 regardless if project is 1440

Maybe "resolution" is the wrong word here...Is there a way to classify (or grade) font "sharpness" of Quicktitler vs Visititler assuming the same project settings?
Hope this is getting clearer...Just curious if some titles created in Quicktitler would appear "softer" than the same titles made in Visititler when encoded to a DVD. I ask, because most titler functions available in quicktitler are adequate for my projects, and they appear good on DVDs, but without installing and upgrading Visititler to compare, I wonder if anyone has a thought about "apparent resolution" of fonts between the two program?
Or is this a "silly" question?

In the old days of tape editing, we used to classify CG in nanoseconds. The rise and fall of a character edge. Using TMP in my old SpeedRazor NLE system with Matrox boards, the fonts were sharper than using TMP in Edius NX. Are the boards softer? The porting of TMP to Edius? Well, after using Vistitle, maybe it's a little of both. Vistitle fonts are sharper than TMP for Edius.

Without a doubt, Vistitle quality is better. When it first came out, I tried to mix it with some TMP titles. The quality difference was so noticeable that I had to get rid of the TMP ones.

"nanoseconds"...rise and fall..that's the phrase I was looking for. So it seems Visititle is clearly superior to TMP...what about Quicktitler? Anyone done a comparison?

              Hi Tobe.

I think they are all resolution independent as it where, and are just a bunch of scalable vectors. I would imagine that the quality differences will be down to the complexity of the render engines and how they render vectors to full raster video.

              Cheers.

              Dave.
