I installed the new NX board and the problem was still there...
I formated the system drive and reinstall everything... the problem was gone...
No idea what went wrong the first time.... :-(Leave a comment:

Can you Import the offending project(s) into an OHCI 50 Hz project?
Beyond that, I say remove and reseat the boards.Leave a comment:

Yes, that's pretty much the same problem, it's glad to know I'm not the only one experiencing this, although my issue is primarily with the generic OHCI HD 50Hz formats. It's actually slightly worse than Aristotelis describes as I don't even need to shut down EDIUS to get this problem to occur. All I need to do is;
1. Create a new project using Generic OHCI HD 50Hz (1920x1080x50i).
2. Create colour bar and drop it on timeline.
3. Save the project.
4. Reload the project - the error occurs.
I've just been experimenting with this and it looks like most of the OHCI device profiles suffer the same problem except for OHCI HD 60Hz which works fine. The only PAL profiles that I can save and reload are those from the DVStorm-RT Output device.
What's even more frustrating is that without quitting EDIUS after failing like this it will quite happily let me create a new project in any of the normally available formats, including the one it's just failed to load.

No Anton, that is not the issue here
The problem is the following:
I create a new project (in my case PAL)
I create a colorbars clip and I place it on the timeline
I save the project and close Edius
Start Edius and choose the saved project
"Hardware Error! Are you sure you want to change project setting? Yes/No"
If I chooce yes the project starts but the project settings are NTSC
If I choose no "Can't open file. The video standard does not match the current settings"
In my case that was happening only with the NX board installed... In generic projects everything was normal... So I assumed that the problem was in the NX...
However Steve has the same problem in OCHI mode... so I'm comfused now...Leave a comment:

I am not sure about the NX
in any case, would it not be quicker to export timeline to a new Canopus HQ or DV avi instead of render?
depending on hard disk setup, in my case it takes less than 5 min per 60 min of timelineLeave a comment:

very strange
what are the properties of such a clip when viewed in windows media playerLeave a comment:

I had the same problem with an NX board and Edius 3.61. The problem went away after removing the board from the system... (working in software mode)
So I sent it for repair/replacement a few weeks ago...Leave a comment:

Hi,
did you ever resolve this issue? I'm suffering from a very similar problem with EDIUS Pro 3.62.
Having recently purchased a HD camcorder I have been editing the footage in EDIUS. The files are 1920x1080x50i and EDIUS allows me to create a project in the appropriate format (Generic OHCI HD 50Hz->1920x1080x50i) and import and edit the files without issue.
The problems start after I've saved a project and then attempt to reload it. First, a dialog box pops up with the message;
"Hardware Error! Are you sure you want to change project setting? Yes/No".
If I select No, the load cancels with the error;
"Can't open file. The video standard does not match the current settings"
followed by a second error;
"An unexpected error occured while reading <name of .epj file>".
If I select Yes the project loads, but then plays back at 60Hz rather than 50. If I go to the Project Settings dialog, all of the presets for "Generic OHCI HD 50Hz" have disappeared. All of the SD PAL presets have gone too. However, all those for HD 60Hz and NTSC are still available and can be selected.
I've tried removing my DV Storm board, but I just get exactly the same error. I've even tried creating an empty project in the correct format and importing one of the problematic ones, but this just throws up the same error.
Does anybody have any idea what this problem is or how to work around it because, as it stands, it effectively makes EDIUS unusable for HD editing as I can't save my work.

Guest repliedNX_Card Error ?
Hi All,
I managed to change my NX card to PAL system but unfortunately, the 'Hardware Error' message still appears whenever i started edius project using NX-E1 project settings like NHX-E1 SD PAL - 720 x 576 50i 4:3 (DV). Imported with a PAL 4:3 recorded footage via firewire & save my edius project & exit edius.
Upon restarting edius 3.62, by clicking the a/m project name, I encountered the following errors;
i) 'Hardware Error! - Are you sure you want to change project settings? Yes or No ?'.
ia) If YES -> I would be able go into my edius project BUT having this error;
'The selected CODEC can not be used in this system. Please select to a different CODEC in the project setting dialog' -> when click OK, the project file opened BUT the system seems to be in NTSC & the Aspect ratio changed to 16:9 or widescreen instaed of 4:3 PAL when originally selected before i started this project.
A printscreen sample of the 'Funny Widescreen' aspect ratio under my Preview Monitor which previously was saved in PAL 4:3 before quitting edius is as follows;
I tried verified this current project settings & found that under OUTPUT device, I justified that its NTSC because ;
This NTSC OUTPUT DEVICE settings displayed its equivalent settings for me to choose from whilst under the PAL selection;
No selections can be found. Thus, Im convinced that this project is in NTSC rather than in PAL which i started off with.
Upon encoding & exporting such project into DVD, the playback aspect ratio were much smaller than 4:3 or even 16:9. Perhaps like 640 x 480 pixels etc.
ib) If NO -> I would experienced 'Can't open file ! - 'The video standard does not match the current settings'. -> when click OK, 'An unexpected error occured while reading f:\xxx\xxx.epj'.
My main query is since my Edius + NX card were set to PAL system via DVCapture ver1.11 (since edius 3.62 don't have PAL/NTSC system selection for me) & I verified that the project saved is in PAL (under NX-E1 or OHCI) settings, WHY would I still received such 'Hardware Error'???
The CODEC used is DV AVI Exporter.
Could it be really my NX hardware problems or just some CODEC issues ? I really can't afford to have my aspect ratio changed by itself if only I need 4:3 or 16:9 under DV codecs.
Could it be that the edius 3.62 is incompatible with NX(PCi-X) card (which i doubt so as many ppl have proved it working fine thus far) ?
Or could there be any settings that I maight have missed out during installations?
Im glad to know that when i chose OHCI project settings -> DV PAL 4:3, 48k -> Re-capture the PAL DV footage via firewire ->do some edits -> finally toast to DVD, the PAL 4:3 apect ratio stays.........
It makes me feels that my NX card really have problems after having tried the a/m OHCI project settings.
BTW, I had done a CLEAN re-installation + a FULL re-format of my system once each session but the error still persists !
Can anyone advice if you had ever encounter such issues before with NX card ??
Thanks All for Viewing..Last edited by Guest; 08-24-2007, 02:04 AM.Leave a comment:

Use a pal project preset.
The dvstorm required a system restart the nx does not.Leave a comment:
