  • Edius neo for vista available

    I found on "ftp.canopus.co.jp/pub/jp/drivers/winvista" ediusneo

It's edus 4.5 for windows vista

I used it on vista and it works, even my projects from 4.2 and 4.5 can be opend and used.

Titlemotion can be installed but it did'nt work.

Xplode 4.5 cannot be installed because it ask for edius 4

To clarify here, EDIUS Neo is not the same as EDIUS Pro/Broadcast!

EDIUS Neo is a "limited" version of EDIUS Pro. The non-Vista-happy elements along with some other functionality have been removed.

And further, the differences between Neo and Pro/Broadcast are:

      Supported hardware:
      Generic OHCI only

      Project settings:
Easier project setting at start-up (no options to customise and save presets)

      Features NOT included:
Rendering format cannot be selected (already preset)
      TC PRESET/mode is fixed
      Overscan size is fixed
      Audio channel mapping is fixed
      EDL / AAF support
      Consolidate
      Multicam
      ProCoder Express
      TitleMotion Pro
      Xplode for EDIUS
      Combine effects
      Vectorscope/waveform
      Audio Mixer
      EDIUS Watch
      User Profiles
      Time Remap
      Uncompressed file output
      3D Picture-in-Picture
EDIUS Broadcast modules (DVCPRO, P2, XDCAM, Infinity, etc)

Oh and definitely would not download/install this package as an upgrade to Pro/Broadcast v4.24 - it's a 'downgrade' to your installation. (you can upgrade Neo to Pro, excepting the Vista limitations)

Well I would not do that either.
Neo = No Extras OHCI :)

I think is a program for students and such to learn the program.

That's the idea - it's intended audience is the classroom, and also for bundling with new camcorders (AVCHD editing support is a nice feature).

Some folks are using it andit seems to work fine but the code is not Vista comaptible yet so do not be suprised if something hiccups :)
