Tried to get my upgrade from 5.51 to 6.03!!!!

Here is the response I received from the dealer when I tried to get a upgrade from 5.51 to 6.03. I was told that I could upgrade to 6.0 anytime from 5.51. We have been waiting for the NX drivers.

Unfortunately, GV does not offer an upgrade path from version 5 to version 6 at this time. Here is the response I received from Grass Valley:

"At this time we do not have an upgrade from EDIUS 5 to EDIUS 6. We are working on putting a new upgrade together, but do not have one today.
We had a limited time promotional upgrade that was available when EDIUS 6 first launched, but it expired back in December."

My apologies, but it looks like they may offer an upgrade sometime in the future.

It's great to support your local dealer....but if you local dealer doesn't want to support you, what good is he? Check the shipping from each, if Safe Harbor has the same shipping charge as B&H, they still are 10 bucks cheaper.

Not quite sure what you mean by this statement but my problem is that my Edius 6 has been a dust collector for months because it is so unusable. And I have better things to do than fighting a program that doesn't work. I'm still using Edius 4. Hopefully 6.3 will fix the quirks.

How do you know the program doesn't work if you have
not installed it? Mine is rock solid and works great. I have my NX
running in it and all is fine. There are a few people that have had
issues. Most of it stems from new work flows and not necessarily
a faulty program. If you move from E4 to E6 you will have to
learn a new work flow. It may or may not be for you.
But, that does not mean that the program doesn't work as it
should.
