  • Loving Edius

I gotta say that I really have been loving Edius lately. I use a lot of NLEs depending on what I'm shooting. Everyone always talks about high-quality HD and such, but what about the low-quality stuff? I've been shooting a lot of helmet-camera stuff lately and Edius does a great job with it. The footage needs about 4 filters applied to it to make it look decent and Edius does it all in realtime.

The helmet cams we use record onto an SD memory chip and I just pop the chip in my laptop and edit right off it. If I copy the footage to the hard drive I can even do multicam. Within an hour after shooting I can have the video edited and playing online.

A huge feature of Edius is that you can download the FULL version off the GV website with no restrictions. I needed it on a borrowed laptop and had it downloaded and installed in less than 15 minutes. And, anything I do on a laptop can be easily taken to my full workstation back in the shop.

Keep up the good work guys!

Sounds like GV got you out of a pickle and working in no time! Mixed format seems to be working really well.

Can we see your cams in action?

      Hey Rusty,

      Long time no talk!

Here's a link to some of our action-cam videos:

Utah Trikes is a specialty recumbent trike shop and our goal is to be THE premiere trike source anywhere. Make sure to subscribe to our channel to receive updates on our latest products, tips on trike maintenance, and to see all our new custom accessories!

The top 4 videos were all shot with the ATC2000 cameras, edited with Edius 4.5, encoded to Flash with Squeeze, and uploaded within a couple hours of the rides.

One thing, I was talking with a guy today about editing the ATC2K footage with Edius. I'm using the OHCI SD 720x480 preset. The original footage is 640x480. I export as lossless AVI into a Squeeze watch folder which automatically encodes it to 320x240 VP6/Flash with our player interface and uploads it to our FTP site. Too bad there is no native 640x480, but quality does not seem to suffer too much. Anyway, I'm having a lot of fun with these little cameras.

Great to see a positive post for sake of it :) I'm loving it too.
When I go out, I wear my EDIUS T-Shirt.

          Hi Ashley :)
Cool stuff with the motor sports videos!

I would also like to chime in and give 4 thumbs up (Is this even possible?) to Edius 4.51c. I'm loving it! Never mind that it works great on a Mac Pro. I do graphics work under OSX and editing work under Windows.

I don't know Ashley. As fast as you guys are on those trikes, I think there must be a motor in there somewhere. I should have looked a bit more closely when I was there.

Yeah, we'll run 25-30mph on the trails. I've gone over 50 a few times, although that was going downhill.

It's really all about Edius though right? (must get thread back on target). Triking and video are two things I love and Edius helps me combine them quickly and easily. (not too sappy?)
