    P2 Clips offline - can't restore back...

I just ran into the same issue...

It looks like I was editing from my 'field drive', rather than the files I transferred over to my system RAID. I just tried getting back into the project (without the field drive attached), and all of the clips give me the checkerboard pattern.

If I plug the field drive back in - everything lights back up again (thankfully I haven't reformatted it yet).

I am not able to restore the P2 clips using the file or folder method in the dialog.

I need to associate these files back to the raid - for project consistency, and for the speed.

What's the deal.... is this an obvious bug - or should we do something different to restore/associate P2 clips... ?

    Please help...

    P2-Restore for spanned clips buggy..!

    Ok,

this is no news or mistake of the update, its rather there since Edius is working with P2 Footage...!

If you have to restore some clips(lets say you had to move some folders, or your external drive shows up under a different name...) that has been recorded "spanned" on P2, Edius wount be able to restore these spanned clips.
(No matter if you choose "by folder" or "file"...if you try file and you find the right one, you cant re-import it, as the button i greyed out then..!)

This doesnt sound like a big issue, but it can be annoying if you have to restore clips....despite that, the restoring works great to me, and even some things with spanned P2-clips have improved in v 4.51c- you get a Waveform now for them..this didnt work before...also if you import spanned clips for the first time, Edius will recognize the whole clip(as long as you have opened all the folders you need for that clip in P2 select..) and import it as one, this was different in previous versions....so keep working on it GV!!Thanks!
Working...
