  • EDIUS does not capture when I connect my DV camcorder

    G'day,

I'm a newbie here so I hope this is the right forum ... if not please let me know which one to use.

Formerly used DVRaptor and DVEdit with my Sony DCR-TRV410E and captured w
    ithout any problems.

I've just updated to EDIUS NX PCI-e. Followed all the install instructions but don't seem to be able to connect/capture from sony DV cam.

Does anyone have any clues or sites I can go to check I've set the beast up correctly.

    Thanx

    mikmak

      Rather extreme advice?

Mikmak: When you say you're having trouble - are you getting any error messages? Or is it that you simply have no device control?

Do you have a basic onboard FireWire port that you can connect to on you PC, just to try and isolate the connection issues?

As KH says, can you capture with any other app, if using Windows can you capture with Movie Maker? At least we'll then know that the cam/cable are ok.
Have you set the capture to the nx dv port in the initial capture settings?

Do the project setting match in video color format?
Do you have the correct input chosen?
Do you choose correct capture settings .

You have to provide information for us to help.

Welcome to the Forum mikmak and congrats opn the NX!

Go through your settings and see to that Edius is not expecting HDV while your camera feeds DV. (My first mistake with Edius... not my last ;)
