o.k. I have been remote editing for years. I have all my footage in a folder with my project and I save it then I bring it home to finish. Now I am working on a project and I moved it over my system and when it opens "nothing" is there usally there my be some elements that I need to get back through the file restoration but nothing is there and there does seem to be a way now for me to bring them all in a folder at a time. Is this a 6.03 thing?!?!? because I now have major problems.

My files are offline. In the past I could multi select them and remap the folder but now I cant. I think its because of the proxy files. How can I weed those out of the file restoration menu?Randy

Have you tried restore folder?
**(let me check I think proxies should be regenerated not restored)
Also since you are on your desktop why not switch the project to fullres?
You can have EDIUS recreate missing proxys and to make it simple for you while you are in proxy mode on your desktop go in to user setting Proxy mode and select automatically create proxies.
Exit and EDIUS will do its magic.
You can also do this manually.
But at this stage I think you should just switch to fullres.
Can you post a screenshot of your timeline?
The best thing when you use proxies is to use the proxy workflow of checking in and out.Last edited by GrassValley_SL; 07-07-2011, 05:38 PM.

o.k. I got it back heres the deal. Normally when I edit like this I put all my raw and my project file in one folder I do keep a small amount of support clips (animations music etc) on another drive. Most times when I get home I just copy the folder back to my main system drive then open it from the folder Edius usally picks up on almost all the clips sometimes with the exception of the support files which I remap and everything is fine. This time everything was offline and I dont know why my driver letters were even the same. to make matters worse I had restore each clip one at a time because the proxy files got mixed up in the restorer folder. I dont care about the proxy files I can just let Edius remake them. I found on the top where I could sort by file type and thats what saved me so I could batch restore all my media then delete all the proxys at once.Randy

Sounds like another good reason to copy all assets to a single folder.
I use Proxy Mode in a couple of ways.
1) Check out and have Edius create Proxies in a folder.
2) Create Proxies on my main editor and copy the entire folder to an external drive, switching to Proxy Mode on the laptop. With this method I use SyncToy (or similar) to backup and restore with each move. Knocking wood as it's not failed me yet.Rusty Rogers | Films
