DVX Bay Front panel (Optional)

Ok, to clarify:

There is a product called EDIUS DVX, sold in all territories except for North America. This product is called DVStorm XA Plus in China (due to strong brand name recognition in that market). In China, the "Plus" in the name refers to the fact it includes a few other things that the EDIUS DVX product does not - namely, the bay. Now since the engineering naming convention only ever refers to a hardware boardset called "DVX-E1", it's most likely that the naming convention holds true with any addon product and technical documentation. Hence "DVX Bay".

The "DVX Bay" adds the analog capture ability. Without it, the EDIUS DVX/DVStorm XA board can only output analog. I'm not sure if this option is available outside of China. It may be, but given I haven't been asked to add it to the product page for DVX, I'm guessing it isn't (or at least, it's not a big seller).

The EDIUS NX bay was what Graham is referring to in the other thread. Apples to oranges in this respect - EDIUS DVX only has one thing in common with the old DVStorm series boardsets - the DV codec chip.

No, this is not like the old StormBay...It has the functionality of an ADVC devise that plugs in the DVX board...
DVX is not capable of analog capture and this BAY gives analog inputs...

Sorry, I haven't looked at the page in reference. But the DVX does indeed have analog capture- dont know where you got that from?

I apologise, it does indeed show a totally different bay !!!
Which I cannot find mention of anywhere on the canopus site.

What I did see on teh software pdf was that

GARASS VALLEY will not entertain any problems caused by installing their software, so - will GRASS Valley :)

Cut and paste is great for time saving, but not when you cut and paste a mistake, as this error is repeated !!!!!!

If you search my posts you'll find a rather heated discussion I had on this bay :)

It is identical in looks to the storm bay, even to having storm bay written on it
It does everything the storm bay does.
It doesn't do anything extra or less.

According to Canopus, there could be a difference in the circuitry.

Not really.
It's just like a Raptor/Storm bay for I/O, it's been out for as long as the DVX has. IMO though very overpriced for a litle simplicity.

I read the Edius 4.5 Hardware Setup pdf and I show a product called DVX Bay Front panel (Optional)...I can't find it on the canopus website... Is this something new?
