How can I disable audio from preview window?

When recording, the camera sometimes captures very loud sounds, which are excruciating to scrub over, since I can't find a way to disable them in the preview window. Can someone help me to achieve this? I'm just trying to scrub the clips silently to dodge the noise, not removing the audio from them completely. Thank you for all your help!

Unfortunately, there's no mute function from the player.
Using the Windows volume control takes the system focus away from Edius and stops playback.
The easiest way is to handle it externally.

I use a desktop mixer between my sound device and speakers.

I just hit the mute button on my Logitech keyboard.

This works instantly and doesn't affect playback.

yep, this is another hardware solution.
I can use the keyboard shortcuts on my laptops also. (thanks for the reminder)
