  • Creating short clips

I've just converted some AVCHD clips into a Canopus HQ file in Edius 6 and have put it onto a timeline to cut it back up into clips for editing, but when I drag a clip into the bin it's the whole timeline not just the bit I've cut, I've even tried dragging a short clip to a new track and then to the bin but I still get the whole file, what am I doing wrong? how do I break up a long clip into short ones please?

There are a couple of ways to do this. With
the new subclip feature it is pretty easy. Put your
full clip into the preview monitor and set your
in and out points in the player.
After that click the subclip to bin button
and after the clip is added hit the x key.
This clears the in and out points so you can
    move onto the next section.

This is just one way do do this.
