  • Conflickt with BitDefender Internet Security...

    Hi!

After install with BitDefender Internet Security 2011 on, Edius won't start...
After not disableing but uninstalling BitDefender(disable didnt give any difference), it worked fine. But i do need my Internet security, so installed it back, and back to squere one - Edius won't start, it says - The application may have been installed improperly...
    Is there solution for this?
Tried this with 2 computers, both have BitDefender installed...

    Thanks for help!

Maybe Bitdefender gives you any chance to exclude files & folders from protection engine.
Take care that all components of EDIUS will be ignored by Bitdefender.
If this will not work, try another Anti Virus soloution! ;)
I'm really sorry to say, but the issue is caused by the AntiVirus software not by EDIUS!

I run BitDefender Antivirus Pro 2011 under Vista Business 32 bit, with EDIUS 5.2 (or whatever the final version was). No problems for me.

I run a different antivirus program under Win 7 64bit with EDIUS 6.02. That system is not open right now, but if it becomes of interest I'll note exactly which antivirus I'm using there.

I did a search for "BitDefender" and "Edius" using Google and found some French language references to this issue -- the problem appears to be the "Active Virus Control" feature in BitDefender. The solution is to create exclusions for the Edius executables.

I would create exclusions just for specific executables like EDIUS.EXE and not the entire Edius directory.
