  • low volume

capture clip with radio microphone on channel 1, volume is perfect

switch audio properties to monaural1 to kill camera microphone, now the audio is way too low

with Edius 4.03, the volume remained the same

    Anton,

This has been explained many times.
It is the panning mode you use in the project or sequence.
I you want a duplicate of channel 1 to channel 2 at full volume use the Edius 3 compatible panning mode.

The standard edius 4 panning mode uses divide.
So it will divide the channel 1 (signal strenght) between 1 and 2.

I think the way you want it you must work in EDIUS 3 panning mode.

Thank God for search and rescue teams that find stuff in Edius and let us know where it is. I've been battling low audio for 6 months and didn't know I could change it in the settings. It's great to find things on the forum that are so helpful in my work.

On another note, what is "color space conversion". What does it do and what does it eat? How does it effect my editing and/or picture?

          Thank you,
          Ted

            Color space conversion:

GV has made some changes in handling/display of HD color space to further improve things.
Now that setting is there if you have an old HD project in which you want to add new material.
In order for the newly captured footage to "match to old form Edius 3 project you would use V3 compatible.
If you are starting a new project with new captures in 4 Standard is the way to go.

            That's the simple explanation.

If I made any mistakes Brandon will jump in here. :)

Thank you SR. It's good to be able to learn from somebody when the available menus don't give you the information.
