  • SlowMotion with Default Parameter 50%

    Hi all,

we use realy a lot of slowmotion in our Projects (Edius 6.02). Most time we use a simple 50% slowmotion. Everytime when we open the SlowMo Window, Edius starts with 100% Parameter. Is there a chance to change the default Parameter to 50%. So that we only had to hit the shortcut Button for the Slowmo and Press Enter(And not change the Value too)

Avid Liquid remembers the Last PArameter of a Slowmo and use this as default if you use any other Slowmo in you Project. This would be nice if Edius could do this also.

    Any Tipps for me ?

    Thanks, Werner

I use an Xkeys keyboard so a single tap of one key makes the selected clip 50% slo mo. That's it, one tap, boom, you're done. I have another key programmed for 80% slo mo as well. Even have one for remove slo mo which makes it 100% again if I decide I don't want it or need it. Plus, there's 50+ other keys available for additional shortcuts. It's little conveniences like these that you use day in and day out that really save time and boost your editing speed. Especially for multi-key shortcuts normally requiring both hands, like SHT+CTL+O or whatever. These can be programmed to use a single key. My right thumb side button on my mouse is programmed to play timeline so I basically never have to take my right hand off my mouse.

For some reason many editors I have worked with over the years seem to think these dedicated keyboards are somehow like cheating, or some kind of crutch, that "real" editors shouldn't have to resort to. Never made sense to me. I've been using the same one for about 7 or 8 years now. Best peripheral investment I've ever made bar none. If I use another computer I simply plug it into that one via USB and I'm good to go. It's like indoor plumbing, back in the day when it was a brand new thing, a lot of folks actually questioned whether it was worth the extra expense, but how many would give it up now?

For anyone who's interessted. We buyed a Logitech G13 Gamepad. With this PAD there comes a software which can create Macro (ala Photoshop). You have only to hit record - press the key's which you want and then assign the recorded macro an Gamepad key.

So we got a 50% SlowMotion with only hit on Key ! Nothing more to do. GREAT !

        Ciao
