  • Export 16x9 SD video for DVD authoring

I use EDIUS 6 and want to export a SD 16x9 timeline to MPEG-2 Elementary Stream (.m2v) and audio files for DVD authoring in DVD Studio Pro on a MAC.

Before EDIUS 6, I would export this via ProCoder 3 and there was no problem.

Now I know that timeline export via ProCoder 3 does not work this way with EDIUS 6.

How can I do this under these circumstances.

    Thanks.

OR export the timeline to HQ avi then feed it to PC3 as the way you did prior to version 6 (assume your timeline is SD).

Thanks for your great help. I was able to try both methods you suggested. Both methods worked well. However, for a portion of the video that was filmed under low light conditions (per the client's request) the "export the timeline to HQ avi then feed it to PC3" produced significantly better quality DVD as viewed on a large HD tv.

        Again, thanks.

Anton, would you show the setup in TMPGenc 5 for a VB instead of a CBR setup.

not nuch to show, you can choose 2 pass VBR and be sure to set minimum to 2000 and max to 8000 and bitrate itself to 7700 or less depending on how much you need to fit on a DVD

audio of course to ac3 256
