How do we get out foot in the door at Grass Valley Cutters?
When will training be available in the U.S.?

With all the clamor over training, this needs some serious consideration.

We are looking in to it. I cannot give a time-frame but the wheels are in motion.

Rusty, I'd say your already there. It would
      just be a formality.

            Just wishful thinking?

Will Grass Valley be planning anything at all for this part of the world (Singapore)?

Grass Cutters is in early development here in the US. I am going to be training schools, dealerships and some individuals as trainers that can then give the classes to others and certify them.

With the sale and focus on getting things running smoothly it has been slower than I had hoped.

I will announce here when training centers are ready to go. :)

                Count me in Mike.

I've been available to contribute to the development of the Grass Cutters programme from day one, when we originally discussed creating a certified training programme.

I always intended to create Intermediate, Advanced, Effects and Workflow courses for EDIUS, with accompanying certification programmes and supporting media but I haven't had any requests since Grass Cutters for version 6.

No doubt, you can read between the lines I'm a little confused about not being asked to contribute more than I have.

I'm happy to take on a much more active role in setting up authorised training centres Internationally.

                Have a marvellous afternoon,

                Maxim Jago

Budget, Maxim. It's all about budget.. :-)

Plus, it makes little sense to add more advanced courses until we've got better coverage with the introductory course, which Mike is trying to do in North America.

                    Hey Steve,

Yeah, I guess it always comes down to that - and it's fair enough.

There's a lot we can do for free. I'd understand if you felt it wasn't desired but if a Grass Cutters forum were available, I'd monitor it happily for free. I'd also be happy to start some straw polls to find out how people would like to see the certification programme develop.

It would be immensely valuable to me to get direct feedback from people running the classes so I can make improvements in the future.

I'd be more than happy to check in with Mike from time to time and offer whatever support I'm able to as he spreads the word in the US :)
