I certainly hope Grass Valley isn't dumping Imaginate. It's an outstanding application. If they don't want it, hopefully they'll sell it to someone who does want it.
I really hope they do as a video editor without high resolution pan and zoom for stills is literally worthless for a lot of situations.

I don't think a project of mine goes by without my using Imaginate in some form. It is the mainstay of so much I do with photo montages and blended photo/video projects I'd be lost without it. It's a wonderful product, especially for panning across or down hi-rez scanned-in maps and things like that. In a recent project I used it to trace an Amtrak route up the East Coast for the opening, and a pan and scan photo montage of New York as part of the presentation.
Just last night I built a 4 layer moving photo wall comprised of about a hundred photos using four alpha projects created in Imaginate and using Edius to composite them. I probably could not have done it so easily in any other apps and without having much longer layout and render times.
I cannot even imagine editing without Imaginate. Due to the quality of our work with Imaginate, many funeral homes are bringing us photos for eulogy montages, to the point that 15-20% of our income last year was from photo montages. I don't understand how anyone could even think of dropping such an excellent program.
I use Imaginate quite often. I Just received a Canon D5 yeasterday. I use a digital camera in lots of my productions.

No question. I work in a museum where creating motion stills and open captions are elements of every project. Imaginate is mission-critical for me. (So is the still-unresolved live-update issue with QuickTitler, which is why I had to revert to 4.24.)
I will be doing a production on the story of Jr Johnson. The legend of NASCAR and a famous Moon Shiner here in Wilkes County. Lots of Photos.we will be getting from NASCAR.. and the guy said. Hey... You can make them move..
I need Imaginate to mix with my footage shot with my HPX2000 and HVX200

I would expect to see something like Imaginate in 5.0...after all we have 3d pip which does most of the functions we need except it doesn't maintain the res, we have the Imaginate technology and don't forget Xplode Pro and multiple-objects(including pics) which used to do what we want in RT with the older vid cards....between all that knowledge they should be able to make something functional in Edius and it would surprise/disappoint me if we don't get it. I really wished they would either say Imaginate is still alive(and update it) or legacy since the way I work it is just fine with me to render the project.
