Imaginate has been called a dead product, I have no idea why because every editor needs to pan and zoom stills

maybe GV have a new product up their sleeve?

I certainly hope Grass Valley isn't dumping Imaginate. It's an outstanding application. If they don't want it, hopefully they'll sell it to someone who does want it.

        imaginate

I know they wont continute to advance Imaginate but I wonder if they are going to fix the compatability bug between Edius 4.5c and Imaginate.

I really hope they do as a video editor without high resolution pan and zoom for stills is literally worthless for a lot of situations.

I don't think a project of mine goes by without my using Imaginate in some form. It is the mainstay of so much I do with photo montages and blended photo/video projects I'd be lost without it. It's a wonderful product, especially for panning across or down hi-rez scanned-in maps and things like that. In a recent project I used it to trace an Amtrak route up the East Coast for the opening, and a pan and scan photo montage of New York as part of the presentation.

Just last night I built a 4 layer moving photo wall comprised of about a hundred photos using four alpha projects created in Imaginate and using Edius to composite them. I probably could not have done it so easily in any other apps and without having much longer layout and render times.

Please keep up support for Imaginate!

            Tom

                Imaginate

I cannot even imagine editing without Imaginate. Due to the quality of our work with Imaginate, many funeral homes are bringing us photos for eulogy montages, to the point that 15-20% of our income last year was from photo montages. I don't understand how anyone could even think of dropping such an excellent program.

No question. I work in a museum where creating motion stills and open captions are elements of every project. Imaginate is mission-critical for me. (So is the still-unresolved live-update issue with QuickTitler, which is why I had to revert to 4.24.)

                          Hea,

I can't import Imaginate projects at all! 4.51c ignores/rejects them!

Rendering is a pain, but it works.

Thanks for listening GV, (oh, they're originally just up the hill in (of all places) Grass Valley, CA! Maybe I can make some calls...

Here is how important it is to me. If an Imaginate-style, keyframable pan for stills is not included in Edius 5.0.--I will switch editng programs.

Not having Imaginate work with 4.5 would absolutley keep me from upgrading.

I'm confident we will have a photo panning keyframable filter for stills and hopefully video in 5.0.

                            Please!

I would expect to see something like Imaginate in 5.0...after all we have 3d pip which does most of the functions we need except it doesn't maintain the res, we have the Imaginate technology and don't forget Xplode Pro and multiple-objects(including pics) which used to do what we want in RT with the older vid cards....between all that knowledge they should be able to make something functional in Edius and it would surprise/disappoint me if we don't get it. I really wished they would either say Imaginate is still alive(and update it) or legacy since the way I work it is just fine with me to render the project.
