  • EDIUS Keyboard shortcuts to printable text

    EDIUS EAP/DAT Translator (Converter) v2.12a
has a neat utility that will take your EDIUS keyboard shortcut .DAT (EDIUS v3.x, v4.x prior to v4.5) and .EAP (EDIUS v4.5+/v5.x) files and translate them to either tab-delimited text or HTML table so you can print them, sort them in Excel (if you do tab-delimited text), or whatever else you might want to do with your custom keyboard shortcuts.

Sorry, not that I know of.

Yes, that's a nice list of the default shortcuts.
Unfortunately there are many functions that do not have shortcuts by default.
The utility works if you have customized your shortcuts - and it can also list the undefined commands available to assign shortcuts to.

If you have Edius 5 and the newest manual, you can always check the Help file and look for the shortcuts there. I think they start on page 707.

I downloaded version 2.11 and run de vbs script. The dialog box is waiting to receive files.
I export the shortcuts within Edius to a file. And then i try to drop this file to the dialogbox. But Windows doesn't allow this. (cursor changes to a "no you cannot" mark)
I'm running XP SP3. How can this be solved?
You need to drag the exported file on the VBS's icon, wherever you saved it.

Alternatively you can run the VBS with the filepath to the exported file from Command Prompt, but that's a lot of typing.

          Brandon,
It works. I didn't know you have to drag it to the icon.

Looks like the XML format has changed in v6.x... haven't had a chance to look at it.
It's VBScript, so the code is freely visible, if someone wants to take a stab at it. Likely it's something small, but my XML-fu is weak and time is short.

Solved - how to print Edius 6 keyboard shortcuts

I found a way to print out my Edius 6.03 keyboard short cut keys. All you need is a screen capture utility that deals with scrolling windows. For this I used PicPick.

To use, open Edius Use Settings, Keyboard Shortcuts, make sure the filter box is empty and activate PicPick 'Screen Capture - Scrolling Window' from the icon it places on the taskbar.

Now click once in the centre of the Edius shortcut key window and PickPick will automatically scroll this window to the bottom of the list, capturing it all to a single image.

I saved the image to my personal Edius 6 "Help" folder and am happy to just view it there but of course you can also now print it out complete. You could even arrange it to fit less paper if you cut and paste it in the PicPick image editor.

Any chance you can update it to work with E6?

Sorry, very busy with other things right now, so no spare time to work on home projects... Someone with better knowledge of how to work the MSXML component will have to take a look.

                        Edius print key

In addition to what is already posted in this topic,
with your permission, I have the pleasure of introducing a new version of this small utility, which is able to translate EDIUS Keyboard shortcuts to
                        an HTML table page.

The program was written by one of our engineers, Angelo Abate, member of the Official Italian Forum for Technical Support to EDIUS.

This Utility seamlessly integrates with EDIUS.
Just unzip the attached RAR file and launch your own version for EDIUS.

Edius Print Key is available here

Credits goes to Angelo Abate [email protected],

Unfortunatlly both solutions didn't work on my PC.

I sorted it out that the eap files can be read out bij Photoshop CS5 and MS Office Access.

But i don't have them both.

But in Excel loaded with a warningmessage gave also a good result.

                              All the shortcuts were there.

The Ctrl-Shift and Alt keyes included.

Only the keyboard buttons were in ascii code , but with selection and sorting was it fixed quickly.

I have now a sorted list.
