    Hey!

I'm doing a "behind the scenes thingy" of a stage being setup.

I want a subclip to go 2x the speed of the rest of the clip so the assembly goes faster.

    Eg:
    Normal speed clip.
    2x speed clip
    normal clip
    2x speed clip etc

How do I do this (the speedy parts)?

    Thanks!
    Ryan

      Ah! Thank you sir!

Will try it once I am back home and update this thread if I run into any (unlikely) problems.

      Cheers!

If you only want a certain part of the clip sped up, just make cut points where you want the speed change.

          Yep!
Did that and works like a charm!

Any other tips to common effects like this (forward/rewind) that you guys use?

yes, here is a simple one

shoot a person banging the head against a wall

now, trim the start of the clip where the head starts to move

trim the end of the clip where the head just comes in contact with the wall

            copy/paste this clip several times

set the second instant to -100 speed

set the fourth instance to -100 speed

set the sixth instance to -100 speed

            and so on

now watch it, you will like what you see, especially if you add a sound effect

I use this technique a lot, it comes in handy when you need to show something happening more than once, it will happen without a glitch

maybe this is what they do when they make X rated movies as well :)
