Intel Quad Core 2.4Ghz, 2Gb RAM, ASUS Mobo (Canopus approved), Nvidea 7300 256Mb Graphics, 200Gb Samsung System drive, 500Gb Samsung RAID 0 video drive, Edius NX + HD expansion, Asus CPU cooler, 500W PSU.
The PC is weeks old and built by a Canopus UK approved System builder.
It's been running day day (and is still running now) and only turned off when I tried Print to DVD.

Can you post your PC specs?
Is there a way you could run a more processor intensive application to see if your PC shuts down again?
Can you also check the system events?

I don't think it is, the PC has run all day in much hotter weather than we experienced today without issue.
If printing to DVD makes it overheat then the whole process needs looking at as it should not tax a PC that heavily.

No, not PCE. When you choose to Print to a file, you'll see an MPEG (Generic) exporter.
This is the native (to EDIUS) exporter for MPEG-2, which the DVD Creator program calls upon when exporting. I'm suggesting that you create the same sort of MPEG output with this exporter to rule out the DVD Creator app. If it crashes during export with this exporter, then we need to look a little closer at the source+target.

I wonder, does the same thing happen if you were to export to MPEG-2 (Generic) instead of using Print to DVD, and use the same encoding settings?

Print to DVD turning off PC! 4.51c
Whe I try to use Print to DVD in 4.51c, halfway through the encoding operation my PC just shuts down!
Anyone any ideas why?
All powersave options are turned off in Windows by the way.Tags: None
