  • Burn to disc error?

Hello, I've been using Edius 6 successfully under Win 7 64bit for a while now. Then just yesterday One of my machines gave me an error when I tried to burn a disc.

"Disc output was discontinued by an eror (code: 0000003)"

I tried changing settings and even rebuilt the menus from scratch but to no avail. Finally I moved the project over to another computer and it worked fine. I thought maybe it was just the project but I got the same code today from the same computer with a completely different project. No menus this time. I've got the latest updates for Eduis. Any ideas what is going on?

Could be your burner? Check your h/w for errors ... get your manufacturer's test software (if any) and run it. And maybe check your connection cables? USB or FIREWIRE? Any problems?

I was hoping that the error code might be a clue to what was wrong. And since it came from Edius, I thought they would know what it means.

Hi , not sure if Edius is using the Windows Standard Error codes for some of their error reporting, or if their error codes are all unique.

Windows Error Code 3 is "The system cannot find the path specified".

Is the burner on a networked drive?

(Wouldn't it be far better and more user-friendly if Edius just actually stated what the error actually meant?)

Sorry, turns out that I don't get notified when there is a reply. I think it used to (maybe I'm thinking somewhere else).

Anyway, Would be nice if they (GrassValley) posted definitions for their codes.

No, it's an internal BD-R, still it could be bad, when I get the chance I'll try to pull it and replace it with something else. Although it's not something I look forward to doing since it's a rack mounted computer at the top of a rack. I'll post what I learn.
