Hi Mark,
I know you have the same system like me - Supermicro X7DA3 with 8 cores.
Have you already upgraded to Edius 4.51 ?
I constantly get a crash on opening of Edius(4.51) with Player/Recorder window where one can see the Desktop Background.
It seems that this problem is HW dependent since the Edius 4.51 runs without problem on my older Supermicro X6DA8-G2.
