Just installed a 4.5c on our machines and it is working perfectly. 2 TVC's and an AAF export / import without a glitch.
My advice would be to install Edius on a laptop or second PC (it will run OK on most computers), take the Dongle across and see if the projects open on one of those machines. Off a firewire drive or USB drive.
Then you can see if it is a Software issue (or something in your projects), or a hardware problem.
It could also be a CODEC problem. Are you using HQ? Lossless? DVCPRO? DV? Quicktimes? (I've had problems with Blackmagic files for instance)
Finally, if you are using and VST plugs-ins on the audio, try removing them from your VST folder. I have had a few problems with VST's causing Edius to do odd things.
One more... try changing the project into Software rendering mode (ie. No TV output) and see if that stops it crashing. Could be something with the bridge to the NX hardware driver.
(and as xManflash says, try changing the overlay mode to an alturnate mode if none of these work)

Edius 4.51c CRASHING!!!
I installed 4.51 (up from 4.2) (on NX system) and have found that most of my projects CRASH (mostly TVCs)
When I play or scroll the time line Edius crashes. This may happen immediately or after a few minutes.
Are there any know installation problems?
I have re-installed Edius from scratch twice with no luck.
Has anyone got any ideas? It’s become desperate as I now have had to canceled edits with some very upset clients.
