Edius upgrader Install problem

Just trying to upgrade Edius 4.03 to 4.51c, and the installer stops during preparing to install with the words of wisdom....

"Different version of Edius was detected.
The set-up will not proceed."

Am I missing something here?

Any suggestions?

Further, I just tried upgrading to 4.10 with the same message.

Hmm, there isn't any chance that some old v3 stuff is still on your system, or that you're trying to run v3 and v4 together on the same Windows XP partition/installation?

Can you try WinZIP? I just remembered that I was unable to open some ZIP files unless I used WinZIP....or try to get the latest version of WinRAR. I've downloaded the patch 3 times, each with zero errors....did you use a download manager?

If you're accessing Internet via a proxy, it might be caching a bad download.
Alternately, your browser might be caching a bad download, or part of one. Try clearing the browser cache.

If that fails, try a different method of Internet access, or at least a different machine.

Ten times at least trying many different ways for download.
And I even try unzip with winzip.

Ok, I'm testing a download here to see that there isn't some corruption with the file server.

So that everyone knows, the details of the file are:

Thanks for the ideas guys...

Downloaded to a different machine with a cleared cache and worked fine with Firefox!

Maybe worth a note on the download page to reduce more of these little nucences!

I tested another download - WinRAR has zero complaints about the archive.

Definitely recommend a full browser cache flush if you're having problems, as well as the aforementioned non-use of download managers (particularly the ones that split+download)

I have the same problem as the first poster. Edius 3 was never on this pc.
