  • HQ with Alpha

I have a photoshop lower third graphic that I fly in using 3dPIP. Can I save this as an AVI and retain the alpha? I'd like to be able to key it many times over different videos.

    Thanks in advance,

If you're exporting a sequence in EDIUS, no, you won't be able to - EDIUS flattens layers whenever it exports (ie. no alpha).

You can generate video with alpha in the Bin window (using the 'Convert' right-click option) but that obviously won't include any 3D Pip effect.

Make a new sequence tab. called graphic flies
make your graphic fly thing there

put and in and out or just select the graphic and press z

Go to edit menu select seqeunce in out.
A sequence wil be created ion a track above.

Now you can take that sequence and put over all the video in that project.
If you do this in a new project. The beauty is that you can import that project in all new projects you make and use that sequence till time runs out.

Just drag the 3dPinP filter to a new folder to save it as a custom keyer...then everytime you bring in your PSD still, just drag the "preset" you just created to it's keyer track it and should be ready.
