I'm using Edius Pro4.03 demo on an HP2220TX laptop with Windows vista Home premium.
The laptop has an NVIDIA 7200 with dedicated and shared memory. The Edius preview monitor is blank. when I press the play key the cursor does not move.

1 possibility: try different "Video Overlay Settings" => you'll find them under Settings => Hardware Settings
    Edius X - Edius 9.52 Pro - Win 10 64 - AMD-Ryzen 9 3900X - 32 Gb DDR4 - ASUS-PRIME X570-PRO - Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER - SSD M.2 1000 Gb system + 3 x 3 Tb storage - 2 x 23" Full HD Monitors - M-Audio Studiophile AV40

Thanks for your respponse. BTW I forgot to mention I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium OS. There is no "Video Overlay Settings" under Hardware Settings.

I'm refering to Edius Settings, not Vista settings.
        And Edius is not Vista-ready

I do not believe this will work. I believe 4.5 has an overlay setting that brings the overlay into vista compliance but earlier versions do not have this.

FYI, EDIUS is not Vista compliant, as others have mentioned.

My only suggestion would be to try and grab the latest graphics chip drivers for the 7200. This can be tricky given it's a laptop chipset and not an AGP/PCIe chipset.

If NVIDIA's web site is of no joy, you might want to try searching for 'nvidia laptop graphics 7200 drivers'

You'll likely also have to disable the Aero user interface using the Themes applet -- with Aero enabled, there is no hardware video overlay.

                Thanks for your help.

Yes Bart I checked the Eduis Hardware settings (not vista) there is no "Video Overlay Setting". My Desktop PC with Edius pro3 has this "Video Overlay Setting".

I'll try disabling the Aero user interface.

                Again thanks guys :-)

Have you tried uninstalling the Catalyst Drivers and reinstalling them?

There is something going on in Edius. I have had display problems ever since going to Edius 4. I have change graphics cards several times to no avail. I finally removed ny DV Rex cards and I now get the editing display monitors (dual). I just can't believe the problem is with the three graphics cards I have tried. This is a frustrating complex problem that needs more work from Grass Valley. And its not an uncommon problem.

Why do you think grass valley should work on this problem for the dv rex?
                        The board isn't officially supported.
Storm and Raptor2 are still supported. The question is for how long?
Soon we won't find motherboards that still supports those cards.
They will make nice door stops then. :)

v4.5 introduces more display options that should alleviate this problem.

Nice to hear. So life of those legacy cards is extended a little ?

Sort of - the DVRex RT is definitely no longer supported, and I would wager that v4.xx will be the last major release for official DVStorm support.
