  • mousepointer changes

    Hi,

Since I'm using Edius 6.01 on Windows 7, I'm have this problem. The mousepointer changes for no obvious reason.
See the example in the attachment.
My Edius 5 was running on Vista.

Where should I look for the cause or a solution?
    - windows 7
    - graphics card driver
    - Edius

your image does not show a mouse pointer, or I am blind?

            Believe me, it's the mousepointer.
I have no idea why it becomes like this.

for testing, can you right click desktop, and switch theme to windows basic or classic

if ok after that, I suggest getting the latest graphics driver, or a newer faster card and latest driver

what is the make and model of your card, 1GB GPU memory is really essential

I have updated the driver of my graphics card. If it happens again, I will use your proposed test. Up till now, nothing happened. (cross my fingers.)

My graphics card is a ATI RADEON 4850 with 512 MB. (I'll change my signature.)
Is there an easy test in Edius to show that the graphics card is not up to the job? I know how to overload my system, but don't know if the CPU or the graphics card is the cause. (off topic from original question, yes.)

                  Thanks for the advice,
                  Marc Hens

add some complex GPU transitions such as cube tube or sphere to 1920x1080 clips and make the transition 4 sec long, if it can play in real time, your graphics card is ok
