  • Canopus DVD Creator Missing From 4.51C

I downloaded and installed 4.51C update and there is no Canopus DVD Creator application. The "Print to DVD" option in Export is grayed out. How do I get this application?

You do have something on the timeline, right?

Yes, I have some clips on the timeline and "in and out" points are set. I checked the file location and there is no application present.

What project setting are you using?

The Print to DVD function only works with selected presets.

You're using a purely progressive frame rate - this is why you cannot use the Print to DVD function (because SD DVD is 59.94i for NTSC). The native MPEG-2 encoder cannot convert frame rates (between the Project Preset frame rate and DVD target frame rate).

You have a couple of choices from here, but I would suggest exporting the project with ProCoder Express for EDIUS, and choose to create DVD compatible MPEG-2 video. Then export the audio as AC-3. Finally, you can then import the MPEG-2 video and AC3 audio elements into DVD Creator and you should not even need to encode anything (so actual creation of the DVD will not take long).

Thank you everyone for being so quick and helpful. I switched to 59.94i and I now see the DVD Creator option. Note that the summary still shows a frame rate of 29.97????

                  That's correct - 59.94i equates 2 x 29.97 sets of interlaced fields - 29.97 frames per second.
