Has anyone else tried the new AVCHD writer in E6 to transfer from timeline back to camera. I have tried with Sony XR550VE. The transfer process does warn you that it may prevent playback of files on camera and suggests back of HDD in Camera (it states certain cameras) it would be nice if GV could let us know which ones as they obviously have come accross this. On my i7 machine it took approx 7mins to do a 3min 22sec TL. At the end of process and disconnecting the USB the camera then tries to load files and reports inconsistencies in the database and offers to repair the database (approx 5 secs) fortunately this works and files are recognised in camera. Playback of these files show a slight jerkiness.
Anyone else tried this new feature.
Original files were 1440*1080i Basic settings for export were Average 12M on the first and 7M on the second AC3 Bitrate 384kbps and quality Normal.

    Hi Jerry
Put my reply on this thread for you as you witnessed the problem when we met in January
the issue appears to be fixed in 6.02. tried a 1 minute clip which was panning throughout and it was smooth.
Exporting 1 minute back to camera took over 3 minutes. I also had to create a new project as it would not use the previous setting, I still had to repair the database in camera after exporting as the proceadure corrupts the database. No adjustments were made to any export setting I used as is. Cheers

It still does not work on some cameras as per the warning. I have a Panasonic 700 camera and a card made in EDIUS is not redable by my camera, but the same card will read in my Panasonic Blu-ray player.

It is possible that a firmware update on my camera may sort it out as well. Of course that is the problem with a list - Firmware updates could make it totally unreliable and no one has the time or energy or money to keep testing a wide range of cameras.

It might seem a silly question but where is AVCHD Writer? the manual tells me how to do it but not how to open it? in tools I have MPEG TS Writer only, going to print to file gives me AVCHD but not the writer.
