edius 6 - can't capture

hi all,
I just install my new edius 6 after i formatted my computer.
I have AdvC (from canopus) which connect my DVD to my computer via Texas Instuments OHCI compliant IEEE 1394 PCI card.
when I'm tring to see and capture clips from my DVD - nothing happan...:-(
I can't see my DVD in the player screen in edius and if i import a movie from my HD (mpg format) I can't caputer anything (my F9 option is in gary).
do you have any Idea how to solve the 2 problems (see DVD in player and capture)?
I was able to do it before I the computer was formatted.

You have to set up a device.

Also, if you are using Win 7, please reinstall the Firewire device driver ... the default install is for Firewire 800 - which does not work for video devices. You need to install the Legacy Firewire 400 driver.
