In 4.5 where should the buffer settings be set? Minimum or Maximum or somewhere in between?

It's more about how much RAM you have in your system - if you have a lot of RAM to spare, use the maximum setting. (the highest setting uses 512MB of RAM all on it's own, not including the application, the OS and anything else needing RAM)

If you do DV projects the max. buffer is huge! It takes way too long to fill.
