  • Edius6.01 and Audio Problems

    Hi all.

I recently installed the trial for Edius 6.01 and have discovered an issue with audio files on the timeline.

When i drop a sound file in a track sequence, i've noticed the file changes pitch/speed. It seems as it plays the pitch goes up and up. I have tried this with a file ripped from an audio cd via Easy CDDA in 3 different file formats ie: CBR/MP3; 44.1k WAV and 48k WAV. The change in pitch is really noticeable when playing and then i stop the track, and play again from where i last stopped it.

Has anyone else noticed strange things with audio like this? Is it only found in the trial E6.01 version? I've also spoken to a friend who is getting audio distortion in some wav files from time to time. ie: the sound files may playback normally in one sequence then distort when moved to another sequence keeping all settings the same.

BTW my files play back normally thru win media player or win amp. I'm running win7 64bit on an i7-920 6gb RAM.

    thanks in advance.

try matching the sample frequency of the project and clip files - 48khz is usually the best base level.

Thanks but as mentioned i tried a wav file in 48k already [ and that is the same freq. set in the project settings] and i still get the same result. I haven't burnt a project to disc yet so maybe this issue will not be apparent when exporting the project

is your project setting on 16bit 48000 2 channel? or is it 8 channel 24bit?

by default, Edius6 creates 8 channel 24bit, you need to manually fix that

thanks but the project setting is already at 16bit audio quantization, 2ch, 48k.. i cant figure why the pitch is changing so erratically.

Can you just try an audio only export and then use that file in place of the original and give us the results.

I'm having same audio speed up problem on new install of Edius 6. Problem shows with previous working project content AV tracks as well as new ones.

Now facing re-install of Edius 5... 5.1... 5.51 Ouch! And re install of E5 DVD is getting stuck!

Alt-Tab, there's probably a confirmation or something sitting behind the installer splash.

Can you read my reply and try it out on EDIUS 6?
