  • Awesome Edius Easter Eggs!

We'll have plenty of time to harass the mods here about some shortcomings of the new release, but there are some nice new features. So while the servers are down (and I don't have the .pdf's yet) here's something to go on about.

So far my favorite is the Fade in/Fade Out buttons.
GUI colors are great, less distracting.
Timeline tabs are easier to read and smaller!
Beringer BCF2000 has its' own GUI (mine is ordered today, only 200 bucks!)
    MPEG Importer
    Super smooth upgrade.
Single button on Windows the Taskbar.
    Multicam only deactivates clips used.

    Rusty :)

Anton your mustache in the way? :)
Put the cursor where you want the fade to end press button done.

Or if you want split fades right click on the button and choose.

      Simple

          Anton,

What does Shift+A do? I use CTRL+A to select all clips in the bin.

          Mmmmm. Red Wine!
          Sincerely,

Shift+A is what I used in prior versions because it matches the Shift+A on timeline, it selects all clips on timeline and I want it to select all clips in bin when the bin is in focus

if this is not possible, I will use Ctrl+A

The Fade also works in conjunction with In/Out points to begin/end the fade.
              Audio, video or both... awesome!

Are you talking about an audio program here or what? Please explain. If so, and audio plugin for use with Edius would be a huge asset for me.

                    Found another one

I now seem to be able to adjust the length of a transition by dragging it for either side! Man, I have missed this for so long in Edius. How is it that something so small can make a man so happy!!!

                    Thanks Canopus.

Also, dropping a transition on top of an existing one replaces it, which I don't think you could do before.

This is much more straightforward than having to delete the old transition, and then creating a new one and having to adjust the duration. Very nice!

This always worked with previous versions of Edius :)

Another thing is all snapping is now done correctly, that is for a transition, it has 3 snapping stages...also transitions on the keyers track also snaps, not to mention the audio nodes are all working 100% correctly (The latter two were mentioned in the update list).

                        Go GV!

                            Save times improved?

Rich, we have a wedding on the 21st, so wont be able to make it. Have a Guiness for me.

Has anyone else noticed that the project save times seem to be a little better? It might be that the project I'm working on is a little smaller than usualy, but it does seem better.

Now that I think of it, the rain we've been having lately has also eased off considerably since I installed 4.51!

The new DVD feature is much better than expected, and template-able too! Nice to hear a good word from the P2 crowd also.
