  • EDIUS 6 - ALT-1, ALT-2 only works on selected track

ALT-1, ALT-2, etc... will add a transition between 2 clips on a selected track. The annoying thing that happens in EDIUS 6 is, that unlike previous versions, even if I CLICK a clip and then click ALT-2, it will NOT add a transition to my selected clip but to a random clip on the track that is selected. If I select a clip, why shouldn't I be able to do stuff with it without having to select the track too??

yes, this is a new feature of Edius6

you need to click the track header first

or drag and drop the transition, then track selection is not important

I have no idea why it is like it is

Not only that, but anything you do with a clip via the keyboard... When I select an audio part of a clip and place my CTI at its beginning and click ALT-V, it SHOULD make an audio fade in but it doesn't if the track is not selected. Hope they fix this.

I don't think they will fix that, because it is according to design spec

Please restore the option to follow a path based on the selected clip. Why point out the clip, and so if anything happens on the selected path? Under this assumption, the choice of the clip from outside the selected path should be blocked.

SRsupport explains why we have to select tracks now at the start of this thread:
            http://ediusforum.grassvalley.com/fo...ad.php?t=19501

Shortcut to select a track => ctrl + shift + number (faster than mouse click)
