  • Start Grayed Out?

Whenever I start Edius 4.51, it lists the previous projects and the most recent is selected... but the 'Start' button is grayed out and is unaccessable.

It is not until I select another project and then re-select the most recent (desired) one, that the 'Start' button becomes available.

Is anyone else getting this or is it working properly for you?

    Thanks!
    Sincerely,

    Mike Truly

    OK... more info.

It was doing this when the previous projects in the list were all from Edius 4.24. When I made a new project in 4.51 and then restarted Edius, the most recent was a 4.51 project and the 'Start' button was immediately available.

Looks like a bug related to old projects somehow.

    Thanks!
    Sincerely,

Curious - do you have any presets defined yet in the bottom third section of the Welcome Screen?

        Kenneally,

I'm not exactly sure. At first, I had no presets down in that area. Then later, in trying to solve my 'Crashing Edius because of Titles' problem... I decided to create a new project and see if importing sequences would fix that crashing problem (it did not but later I found that rebuilding the bins did). So at that time, I was forced to try to make a new project and had to go through that process and it created a preset. (Which by the way... used a DV icon when I created a D1 preset).

So now I DO have a single preset down there. So is this why the Start button is now available on the most current selected project when it was not before?

        Thanks!
        Sincerely,

        Mike Truly

It sometimes gets a bit picky about the order of things - I believe you can just double-click on any recent project to get the ball rolling, regardless of a preset being in existance.

Re: titles - hmm, I heard mutterings of a patch in the works that addressed a quirk with titles causing an EDIUS "quit-to-desktop" - quite possibly this is it. The patch is supposed to be ready in the next 24-48 hours or so.

            Kenneally,

Thanks for the info. This particular crash did not crash to the desktop, but rather gave the error dialog... but could be related. I've worked around the issue by rebuilding the bins (I tried to delete just the Titles folder but just right-clicking on the folder to get to delete caused the crash too).

            Thanks!

            Thanks!
