Edius 5 introduced so called GPU effects. Make a guess which hardware the're using ;)

THe GPU effects are not socalled the are effects that use the GPU...

As for why don't we use it in the main program? Take a look at what Premiere has to have to get realtime... Big Computer AND Huge Graphcs card.

We don't need the HUGE graphics card and we get more realtime.

So the answer to your question is... We don't need it yet.
