I want to know why my DVD burning is taking so long. This was not always the case but now for some reason, the burning is taking hours and hours when it used to take less than an hour. I'm using new DVD disks and a fairly new burner (SONY) so I suspect the problem is not hardware but rather software or settings of some type.
I'm using Version 3.61 for a project where I am converting customer home videos on analog tape (8mm) to DVD. Once I have the video digitized and on the timeline, I then use PROCODER EXPRESS FOR EDIUS to do the conversion. The time for this process to complete is what I would expect as it is dependent on the length of the source video. Once the conversion is finished, the burn process then follows. After providing a name for the disk and placing a blank DVD into the burner, I then proceed with the burning of the disk. For a video that is about 90 minutes long the burn process takes about 12 hours. This seems like it is taking much more time than it should.
Do I have some setting specified incorrectly? This used to not take this long.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
