  • Can I import XDVE .MOV files from FCP into Edius 5.5

Edius currently gives an error when trying to bring them into the bin.

These are files from a Sony EX1R transferred into Final Cut then copied from the scratch folder. Anyone know how to deal with these or where to get a suitable codec please?

Don't those cameras produce XDCAM EX files? If so use the Sony Clip Browser and drag them from there into the Edius Bin

The didn't seem to have the original files from the camera available, I think they are archived on a disk somewhere but the S*S cards were wiped. They only had these .mov files.

I updated VLC and can now play the video, with no sound, whereas iTunes plays a black screen but with audio. The audio is not important on these clips.

I am trying to convert these files now with VLC, currently with very limited success, but have one file so far working in Edius, the other seems to jump around the clip at different speeds. Still trying options, I haven't used the VLC convert features before and 1.1.4 doesn't seem very intuitive to me.

Thanks Anton, after about 6 hours of messing with VLC I gave up and downloaded the Calibrated codec demo. It does seem to work fine with their logo on, thanks for that, however in this case I can't really justify the £50+ cost for this project. I'll see if I can get the camera guy to render it out into another format for me. Still a useful link and I suspect I will have to end up buying it at some stage.

Any other known solutions still welcome by the way.
