USB dongle not workin

I was just editing yesterday on my laptop and when i tried to start editing today the red light on the usb dongle lights up but edius tells me that the trial version of edius is expired and it wont open.

What has happened? Has anyone experienced this?

Did you try rebooting or a different usb port? I've had that happen on a few occasions where, even when it lights up, changing it to a different port or rebooting solved the problem.

You can also try re-installing the HASP driver from the EDIUS installation disk; it can also be downloaded from the Aladdin website.

Do you have Windows automatic update turned on?

I remember reading somewhere that you should not allow Windows to update that driver from the web, but stay with the one that was supplied with the install disc.
