Need advise for converting 1024x576 film project

Could anyone give me advise what to do?

I have a film project to edit for DVD export.
Unfortunately it was recorded in a 1024x576 format.

What should I do to get the maximum quality for DVDs?

there is nothing in the world that can record 1024x576 other than screen capture software

what did you use to record 1024x576

basically, 1024x576 is perfect Pal 16:9 using square pixel

so if you place it on a Pal D1/DVD 16:9 720x576 project setting timeline, it should show perfect and you can export to DVD

Hi Anton.

You are exactly right. I think Nicola may have viewed an Anamorphic file in QT, this will usually give the square pixel dimensions of the decoded anamorphic signal as it would appear on screen and not 720x576 PAL signal.

Anton, I suspect Andrew HD's happy face means he is happy with your answer.

We operate Macs and PC here and I am waiting for the day our Information Systems Dept introduces Windows 7 so we can give the MACs the boot. File interchange (and especially HD video) between the two platforms is just such a pain.

For Nicola, if the material is a .mov file you may find it more convenient to convert the video into a HQ format on the timeline set up as per Antons suggestion. It will scrub better and any enhancements will be more realtime.

Hi Andrew. You seem to be a funny guy.

Thank you for all suggetions. @Anton. It was recorded with a JVC GY-HM100 but over a livestream mixer. So I think the 1024x576 resulted from the mixersettings.

@Dave. You are right. We are talking about mov files.
