Thanks to GV for giving us a solution to get us through the Edius upgrade phase without having to purchase a TMP upgrade too. I really appreciate this.

Hi - 5 to GV for that. Excellent. I was sitting on the fence - whether to upgrade EDIUS to version 6 because of this issue. This seals the deal :-).

I will purchase the upgrade when it becomes available, but, needs to wait for 6.01 or something to make its appearance before I can install - because of the NX card support issue.

I must congratulate Grass Valley for displaying first class customer service skills. They have listened to their customers and acted accordingly, a seldom seen move from such a large company.
In turn it can only benefit GV who will maintain a loyal following and ensure client support for their products. Everyone is in a win win situation.
Keep up the good work GV.

Good news as an interim measure. Next step is the solution for v7 when it coms out, and that is where either upgrades to QT, or a VisTitle deal, or something yet to be announced will have to enter.

May be time to start saving for that day - two less grande coffee lattes per week and in a year ...

Thanks GV. I think it is a logical and very good solution. I was upgrading to ver 6 regardless of what direction TMPro went in. Unless Vistitler is part of Edius's future, I would like to see the QT developed further.

For some reason, I just knew GV won't let us down. I'm not using it since the new VisTitle is in town... but Thanks GV, pretty good move!

At least you do realize that this is going to happen. Many others will still be pleading for a plugin for TMP for Edius 7. I seriously doubt that a plugin will be made available for 7(at least a free one anyway).

Clearly it is not acceptable to penalise people upgrading to EDIUS 6 by removing the TM Pro functionality. Equally, I think most users also now realise that there is limited scope for future development with this particular application.

We propose, therefore, to provide a software patch, free of charge, to registered EDIUS 5 users via the normal software download section of the website. This patch will be available on the website for a limited period of time - concurrent with the EDIUS upgrade promotion at $299 which will run until the end of the year - and will enable existing users to continue to use TM Pro with EDIUS 6.

We hope that you find this to be an agreeable solution.
                        Just two words: THANK YOU

                          What a great solution.

Doubtless, is decision taken with respect to TMP in EDIUS 6 is for many users the most beneficial, so congratulations to GV.

TMP users know that from now on we will have title changes to avoid this limitation of support in the next version of EDIUS... as already mentioned:

Itself bet by the intensification of the development in Quick Titler (which is the weakest it has EDIUS today) towards a more professional titler... and avoid third-party dependencies.

                            I have a question.

If the user is upgrading from EDIUS 4 to EDIUS 6 does the patch still work?

Maybe I generalise his question a bit -

Does the patch works for ANY EDIUS version apart from 5?

As far as I'm aware it's a patch for EDIUS 5 users only.
