  • EDIUS 6 & TM Pro

Apologies for the delay in clarifying the position with respect to TitleMotion Pro, only it has taken a short while for us to co-ordinate a response.

Clearly it is not acceptable to penalise people upgrading to EDIUS 6 by removing the TM Pro functionality. Equally, I think most users also now realise that there is limited scope for future development with this particular application.

We propose, therefore, to provide a software patch, free of charge, to registered EDIUS 5 users via the normal software download section of the website. This patch will be available on the website for a limited period of time - concurrent with the EDIUS upgrade promotion at $299 which will run until the end of the year - and will enable existing users to continue to use TM Pro with EDIUS 6.

We hope that you find this to be an agreeable solution.

Thank you GV, this makes the upgrade on our three systems something we will do. We do know that we will have to make a change, and maybe Qtitler will be upgraded to a more professional tilter. Just a side note, we used TMP to make 3 animated graph in minutes, that would have required lots of time in After FX.

A very pleasant response. To make it clear that we made a jugement error and propose to help you out.

And now it is clear for all that it will likely not be available going forward in versions to come. At least this gives people the time they need to consider their options down the track. Thank you Steve,

Good for me too, and makes the upgrade a definite.
I am still fairly useless with TMP (and it lacks some of the whizz and lighting FX I envy in FCS:)) but it can produce nice motion fairly quickly.
Still... have found myself using quicktitler and 3d p-i-p or other transitions more and more. So in Edius 6, TPM may quietly disappear for me. Cos it's easier on the brain to learn one way of key-framing motion and stick with it than... more than one :)

Home: Canon HV20 and Panasonic GH1 (hacked); Neo 3.01 on HP elitebook 8440p i7 and Neo 1 on homemade dualcore desktop.
